Also, just want to say that on Fx 3.6 on Linux this works just fine, so maybe it's been fixed since my other comment 7 months ago, an update to 3.6 has changed something lately or there is a major difference between the setup of Fx 3.6 on Windows and Linux. Probably a bit of a moot point now anyway, as there can't be many people around still running an old version of Firefox any more.

maybe a bit more information than that might help, i.e. which type of iPad and what version of iOS was it running? Could be that it does run on them but just not on your specific setup?

Opera on Linux (up to 10.60 or so I think) used to support everything that was supported by the system gstreamer libs, and did pick the ScreamTracker audio file if you had the appropriate packages installed.

The script that builds the zip archives needs some tweaking to pick up resources from the YUI dynamic loading. I've logged it as ticket 33 in the svg-wow bugtracker, and will get it fixed as soon as I can.

I have download the demo to build upon and the source is missing several pieces. Neither TextEffects or AssetLoader are included. Are these packaged somewhere differently?Best,Steve

And with Chrome 11 it runs quite fast, even on my old HP Compaq nw8440.

Maybe it wasn't clear enough in the post, but yes, using canvas and html5 video and then squeezing those into an svg image element is always going to be slow because of the conversion overhead and so on. Feel free to compare to Opera (which supports the svg video element, and can thus avoid that overhead).

Demo (or this comments section for that matter) doesn't work on Firefox. Safari and Chrome play OK, but on Fx (3.6 Win7-64bit) the audio is perpetually loading, no sound plays although the animation seems to work correctly.

What browser are you using? This particular demo is using SVG Fonts, which are not supported by Firefox at the moment. Opera, Safari and Chrome works fine on this one.

It works in any Opera version starting from Opera 9.2 (released in 2007). I'd recommend trying it in Opera 11 though (a few generations newer and much faster), get it from http://opera.com/.

SVG and HTML5 seem to be the future of education-geared website. But the key point is the absolute need of a scenario maker. Things are not that straight, and that could end up in some flash remake sophistication. Seems it was not the primary goal which I believe is making basic animation with just some javascript lines of code.
